The ASEAN Barred Ground Dove festival takes place to attract and make relationship among the dove-lovers from the southern part of Thailand as well as from neighboring countries such as, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Brunei. Thai people have believed that doves are creatures, which bring good luck to people who rare them and are also the symbols of purity and peach. The major highlights during the event are the doves with the most melodious and sweetest cooing sound and the red-whiskered bulbul singing competition. Also, there are the contests to find the most beautiful cage and demonstrations of cage-making, displaying the local wisdom and selling of the local products.
