The objective is to promote and publicize the rock climbing sport to be recognized among tourists, both Thai and foreigners. Also it aims to present the image of the abundant and outstanding natural attractions of Krabi province, particularly Railay Beach, featuring high steep limestone terrain standing over the turquoise color of the Andaman Sea, which is composed of beautiful and challenging climbing spots and more than 600 world-class rock climbing routes. Rock climbers can eye the panoramic views along beautiful coastlines and sandy beach with numerous islands in the Andaman Sea.
This year, the contest is divided into two categories: Lead Climbing Marathon and Deep Water Soloing. In addition, there is also the Fire Contest in Open Free Style category. In the past years, Krabi’s Rock and Fire International Contest received a good response and has been well-known at national and international levels, which has helped stimulate tourism industry in the province.
