The Province of Trang is holding the 16th “Trang Underwater Wedding Ceremony 2012” from 10 to 12 February 2012 at Pak Meng Beach in Sikao District, Trang province. Organized under the theme ‘16 years of memories,” the event will focus on good feedback from the past 15 events to underline the love for this ceremony.
The Trang Chamber of Commerce, in association with the Trang Province, Trang Municipality Tourism Authority of Thailand, as well as other local authorities and private agencies, has cooperatively launched the 16th Anniversary of “Trang Underwater Wedding Ceremony 2012” event to promote tourism in the province.
Trang Governor Seni Chittakasem, accompanied by representatives from government and private agencies as well as 40 couples, earlier paid homage to Phraya Ratsadanupradit Mahitsaraphakdi Monument – the late Trang provincial administrator- asking for blessing before the launching of the wedding ceremony in a few days.
The welcome ceremony will be held on February 10, 2012 for the 40 couples and reporters from mass media at Trang Airport.
Trang held its first eco-tourism event in 1996 under the theme “Returning the Natural Beauty to Coral Reef”, which included the underwater wedding. The province has since been renowned worldwide as the best place for lovers to get married.
