The ninth annual Prison Products Fair is underway on display and for sale is a wide range of hand-made products crafted by prison inmates from 14 provincial prisons across the southern region as part of their vocational skills training.
The fair is held to show prisoner’s works to the public. It is made possible by cooperation between the government and private businesses
Prisoners receive a portion of the profits made on items sold at the fair, which they can use to rebuild their lives after their release.
The majority of the products are heavy-duty wooden furniture and decorative items, all at very reasonable prices.
