Identifying the Obstacles& Need for Change Bangkok Networking Thailand

The International Commission of Jurists (ICJ), together with the Justice for Peace Foundation (JPF), would like to invite you to the launch of the report on Women’s Access to Justice: Identifying the Obstacles & Need for Change – Thailand on 22 August 2012, from 10: 0 0am to 2:00pm at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Thailand in Bangkok.

In March 2011, the ICJ and JPF initiated a process of exploration, consultation and reflection on obstacles to justice for women in Thailand. Through extensive conversations with more than 70 women, human rights defenders, legal experts, civil society representatives, key Government departments and other stakeholders, the ICJ and JPF discovered that for many women in Thailand, justice remains distant or inaccessible. This report outlines our main findings from that process, as well as our recommendations about how to improve this troubling situation.
